UNIVERSIADE 2009

In the period between July 1st and July 12th, 2009, the Universiade 2009 was held in Serbia. This was the biggest sports event ever held in our country. One year before, I was appointed as the President of the Organizing Committee of this event. In the preparation period, we managed to reduce the budget of the event, from €240 to €75 million. Although it was in terms of budget a “poor” Universiade, Serbia and Belgrade set the highest standards for organization of sports events.
